Realized price is the average price at which every bitcoin last moved on-chain. It is often read as the average cost basis of all holders.
When spot price is above realized price, holders as a group are in profit. When spot is below it, they are at a loss.
How to read it

How it is calculated
- Realized cap: each coin valued at the price when it last moved on-chain. The data comes from Coin Metrics.
- Realized price: realized cap ÷ circulating supply.
- Spot vs realized: (spot price − realized price) ÷ realized price.
- Updated once a day. The date on each reading shows when its data was last updated.

What is Bitcoin realized price?
The average price at which every bitcoin last moved on-chain: realized cap divided by circulating supply.
Why does realized price matter?
It shows where the average holder stands. Spot above it means the average coin sits on a gain. Spot below it means the average coin sits on a loss.
How is realized price different from the MVRV ratio?
Realized price is a price level. The MVRV ratio is spot price divided by that level, so it shows how far spot sits from it.
