CryptoTalks ("we", "our", or "us") is a social networking platform dedicated to cryptocurrency and blockchain discussions. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

Based on our legitimate interest in operating and improving our platform:

These companies process personal data for us, only to run the parts of the Platform listed here.
Database hosting and user authentication. Stores your account, content, purchases, referral records and assistant chats.
Card payments, tax calculation, receipts, the customer portal and your site credit balance. Receives your name, email, payment details and purchase records.
Hosts the website. Its servers handle every request, including your IP address.
Runs the Aureus AI assistant and helps draft bug reports. Receives your assistant messages, the data needed to answer them, and the bug description you type (see section 8). Never your name, email address or account ID.
If you sign in with Discord or link your Discord account, Discord shares your Discord ID, username and avatar with us, and your email address when you sign in with it. We also post the title and text of each bug report to a staff Discord channel, without your name or account.
Only if you pay with Solana Pay. Your wallet address and the transaction are public on the Solana blockchain and cannot be deleted.
Prints and ships printed books. Receives your name, delivery address, phone number and email address for each printed book order.
Our database and authentication provider, Supabase, stores data in the United States (us-east-1). Our other providers process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. For transfers from the EU or UK, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses (see section 6).
If someone referred you, they can see your username, the date you joined, whether you subscribe now, and the date, type and amount of each commission your payments earn them. They cannot see your email address or your payment details. See our Referral Program Terms.
Analyst members can report bugs from the assistant page. We store each report with your account so we can tell you when it is fixed. If you ask Aureus to help write the report, the description you type goes to Anthropic to draft it. We post the title, text, area, severity and page of each report to a staff Discord channel, without your name or account.
We protect your data with:
All traffic to the Platform uses HTTPS, and our pages tell browsers to use HTTPS only.
You can add passkeys and two-factor authentication with an authenticator app in your account settings.
Database rules (Supabase row-level security) limit what each account can read and change.
Card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
No internet transmission is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States. We ensure adequate protection through:
Transfers to countries with EU adequacy decisions
EU-approved contract terms with processors outside adequate countries
Technical and organizational measures for non-adequate countries
Aureus is the AI assistant at /ctn/assistant. It answers questions about crypto and about CryptoTalks.
To write each answer, we send Anthropic:
We do not send your name, email address or account ID. Do not put personal details, passwords or wallet seed phrases in a message.
Anthropic states that it deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days. It can keep them longer if they are flagged for a Usage Policy violation or if the law requires it. See Anthropic's retention page.
We store your chats, with your messages and the answers, in our database so you can go back to them. We delete each message 90 days after it was sent. We delete a chat, including its title (taken from your first message), once it has had no activity for 90 days. You can ask us to delete your chats sooner at privacy@cryptotalks.network.
If you are in the European Union, you have these rights:
Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, including account information, posts, and analytics data.
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal limitations.
Request transfer of your data in a machine-readable format.
Request limitation of processing in certain circumstances.
Object to processing based on legitimate interest, particularly for marketing.
Contact us at privacy@cryptotalks.network with your request. We will respond within 30 days and may request identity verification.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have violated GDPR.

When possible, we anonymize rather than delete data to maintain platform functionality while protecting privacy.
Automatic rate limits stop spam and abuse. They limit how often an account can comment, like, share, vote, start a checkout or send messages to Aureus in a short time. Aureus also has the daily message limits in section 8.
Aureus writes its answers automatically. An answer is information for you to check, not a decision about you.
Our platform is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it immediately and may terminate the account.
