Referral Program Terms (Effective: November 26, 2026)
1. About These Terms
Crypto Talks Network, LLC ("we", "us") runs the CryptoTalks referral program. These Referral Program Terms are part of our Terms and Conditions. If you share your referral link, or ask for a payout or site credit, you agree to them.
2. Your Referral Code
Every CryptoTalks account gets one referral code, free or paid. You find it, and your share link, on the Referrals page in your account.
When someone opens your link, their browser stores your code in a cookie called ctn_ref for up to 1 year. If they already carry another code, the first code stays. They can remove the code at any time by opening any CryptoTalks page with ?noref=1 at the end of the address. Some browsers delete cookies sooner.
A person counts as your referral only when they create a new account with your code. We do not add referrals to existing accounts. Once the account exists, nobody can change who referred it. The only exception: staff can void the connection for fraud or abuse (see section 9).
3. What the Person You Refer Gets
The person you refer gets 5% off every card payment they make to us: subscriptions, renewals and digital books. The discount lasts for as long as the referral stays active.
On printed books, the discount applies to the books, not to shipping.
Solana Pay payments get no discount.
4. What You Earn
You earn a commission on every card payment and every book purchase that the person you refer makes. You earn whether your own account is free or paid, and whether their account started free or paid.
Your rate is:
- 5% for everyone
- 10% for Affiliates
- from 15% for Ambassadors
Staff may agree a custom rate with an Affiliate or an Ambassador. Each commission uses the rate in force on the date of the payment.
The commission is a share of the cash the person paid for that payment, after the referral discount. It does not include tax, and it does not include any site credit they used.
Printed book orders earn a commission too. For them, the commission is a share of the book price after the discount, without shipping and tax. Site credit cannot pay for printed books.
Solana Pay payments earn no commission.
5. The 90-Day Hold
Each commission is held for 90 days after the payment that earned it. This covers refunds and chargebacks. After the hold, the commission joins your available balance. Your balance does not expire while the program runs.
6. Using Your Balance
You can use your available balance in two ways.
Cash payout
- You can ask for a payout in the app when your available balance is at least $50. Affiliates and Ambassadors also need to finish identity and payout verification with Stripe first, and we pay them through Stripe.
- Staff review each request.
- We pay approved payouts within 30 days, by bank transfer or another method we agree with you.
- Before we pay, we may ask you to confirm your identity and give tax information.
- You can have one open payout request at a time.
Site credit
- There is no minimum. You choose the amount.
- We add the credit to your Stripe customer balance. Stripe takes it off your next subscription invoices automatically.
- When you buy a digital book, you can choose to use your credit at checkout. At least $0.50 of each book purchase is paid by card.
- Credit works only with card payments.
Who can use a balance
To ask for cash or credit, you need both:
- One whole calendar month on a paid plan within the last 3 closed calendar months (UTC). For example, if you subscribe on 15 November, December is your first whole month, so you qualify from 1 January.
- An active account. A deactivated account keeps earning but cannot use its balance.
Affiliates and Ambassadors, current or former, do not need the paid plan month. They need only an active account. Their cash payouts also need the Stripe verification in the cash payout section above. Site credit does not need it.
7. Refunds and Disputes
If a payment that earned you a commission is refunded or disputed, we reverse the commission on that payment.
If we already paid you that commission, or you already used it as credit, we take the same amount from your future earnings. We never charge your card for it. Until your earnings cover the amount, your balance can show below zero, and you cannot ask for cash or credit.
8. Affiliates and Ambassadors
Affiliates earn 10%. If you make content or promote CryptoTalks to a real audience, contact us to apply. You do not need a subscription to become an Affiliate, or to use your balance. Cash payouts need the Stripe verification in section 6.
Ambassadors earn from 15%. This level is by invitation only. Ambassadors appear on our Ambassadors page with the bio and links they give us.
Staff decide who is an Affiliate or an Ambassador, and may change or remove a level.
If you leave the program, or we end your level, we pay you your whole available balance with no minimum. Amounts still on hold are paid when their hold ends. You still need to finish the Stripe verification to be paid.
9. Rules
- You must not refer yourself, for example with a second account, a family account you control, or a fake account.
- You must not create fake or duplicate accounts.
- You must not send spam, and you must not mislead people about CryptoTalks, its prices or what they get.
- You must not promise profits, and you must not present CryptoTalks as financial advice.
Staff can void a referral connection if we find fraud or abuse. A voided referral earns nothing more, and the person loses the referral discount. Voiding a connection also voids every commission on it that has not been paid out or used as credit, including commissions in an open payout request. Amounts you owe from refunds stay owed.
10. Taxes
You are responsible for any tax on your earnings. If the law requires it, we may ask for a tax form (for example IRS Form W-9 or W-8BEN) before we pay, and we may report payments to tax authorities.
11. Privacy
On the Referrals page you can see the people you referred: their username, the date they joined, whether they subscribe now, and the date, type and amount of each commission their payments earn you. The person you refer knows your code. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this data.
12. Changes and Ending the Program
We may change the rates or these terms. If a change is material, we will give at least 30 days notice before it takes effect, as our Terms and Conditions promise. A new rate applies only to payments made after it takes effect.
If we end the program, we will tell you at least 30 days before. Until the end date you can ask for a payout of a balance of $50 or more, or use your balance as site credit. Affiliates and Ambassadors get their whole available balance with no minimum, and amounts still on hold are paid when the hold ends.
